Hi, I'm Wickie!
About a year ago, I was sitting at a corporate desk job, wondering what I was doing with my life. After many long days of questioning everything and a few tears shed, I made what felt like a crazy decision to quit my job and go to culinary school in New York City.
Each day at culinary school, my passion for cooking grew. Even more importantly, I had a new sense of joy in my daily life -- I was finally spending my time doing something I genuinely loved. I'd be lying if I said there still weren't hard days and difficult moments. Learning how to cook is a messy process filled with mistakes, burns, and the occasional painful cut. However, even in the times when I struggled, I still knew that I was where I was meant to be, doing something I loved.
This website is the culmination of what I learned in culinary school, the recipes I come back to again and again, and new techniques I am trying out. I am so excited you are here!

Less is more, and simple is better. Good food comes from good ingredients and real technique, not from making things complicated for no reason.

These burgers are SO GOOD. They are thin patties that get an amazing crust, topped with American cheese, caramelized onion, and my not-so secret special sauce.
